The famous Stockton & Darlington Railway opened on 27 September 1825, connecting collieries in Shildon to Darlington and Stockton-on-Tees.
Celebrate the occasion by making your own model of Locomotion No 1 in a family-friendly craft activity, sitting down for a storytelling session and enjoying some music.
The Friends of the Stockton & Darlington Railway will be leading guided walks around our site and there'll be diesel-hauled train rides, access to locomotive cabs and stands from community and heritage railway groups.
