70 Years of the Railways

New for the May half term is our mini exhibition 70 Years of the Railways, which shows how rail technology has developed during the Queen's lengthy reign. Get up close to the Deltic prototype, Winston Churchill, HST and other stars of our collection to explore seven decades of railway innovation.
Family fun
30 May – 5 June
Look out for the activity stations around the Main Hall and have a go at our self-led science, art and object-handling activities, available all day.
Join our Explainers for pop-up sessions through the day, where you can learn more about streamlining or bridge building.
These free activities are aimed at visitors aged 4-11, and there’s no need to book.
