We're open every day this half term with family-friendly workshops and activities on the autumnal theme of Leaves on the Line.
Come along to Locomotion for a great day out this autumn half term. Inside our Main Hall packed with brilliant locomotives and railway objects big and small, you can also:
- Discover why leaves on the line are a genuine problem—and how it is solved
- Do our self-led daily activity—create a forest folk nature picture using leaves, twigs and other material from outside
- Make an air-dry clay nature plaque (available on Monday 24 and Friday 28 October)
- Get involved in forest school activities (Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 October)
- Try your hand at cyanotype printing (Thursday 27 October)
- Enjoy a passenger ride hauled by our Rocket replica (22–26 October, 11.00–15.00, tickets (£3, under-5s free) available at the Welcome Desk
All activities are free. Some require a ticket, which you can book on arrival at the Welcome Desk.
