See incredible model railway layouts and brilliant models in action in this exhibition of vintage Hornby products and more.
Join members of the Hornby Railway Collectors’ Association for a weekend showcasing the best of Hornby model trains and other products made by Frank Hornby’s Meccano company between 1920 and the factory’s closure in 1965.
There will be running examples of model Hornby O gauge trains—both clockwork and electrically powered—as well as Hornby Dublo, which was introduced as the ‘Perfect Table Railway’ just prior to the outbreak of the Second World War.
The Dublo exhibits include the ‘not to be missed’ double-spiral helix—watch as vintage model locomotives climb and then descend 12 levels on their spectacular route around the layout.
Other products on show include Meccano models and Dinky toys. Younger visitors will have the opportunity to ‘drive’ some of the toy trains on display.
