Come to Locomotion this festive season for a lovely bunch of activities to get busy with.
This year there's plenty to do at Locomotion as we head into the Christmas holidays.
Please note we are closed on 24, 25 and 26 December.
Festive activities (self-led)
Available every day we're open between Saturday 4 December 2021 and Monday 3 January 2022. Available with your museum admission ticket.
- Craft activity: Make a stained glass window
- Festive colouring
- Festive trail
- Festive wish tree—write your wish for the festive season and add it to our tree
- Bridge-building challenge
- Build a light circuit to match Locomotion’s signalling game
Festive crafts
Saturday 4 December and Saturday 18 December
- Make a festive craft item to take home (decorate a bauble, bell or crown)
Festive science shows
Saturday 11 December
- Join Technology Tom for a science-packed session
- Spaces are limited—you'll need to book a separate Science Show ticket alongside your museum admission ticket
- Maximum of one adult per child
Treasure Island
Thursday 16 December
- Treasure Hunt trail—collect your trail sheet, plot a route through the Collection Building and claim your reward at the end (a chocolate coin, with free-from option available, while stocks last)
- At 18.00 and 20.00 Locomotion plays host to two performances by Theatre Space North East of the pirate adventure Treasure Island. To book tickets visit the Theatre Space website
