Curator Evening with Flying Scotsman

Would you like to learn more about Flying Scotsman? Get a real, in-depth insight into the world's most famous locomotive from our expert curators in this exclusive evening experience.

Guests will be treated to a drinks reception on arrival and time to mingle with the curator and other guests before starting your special curator-led tour showcasing the history of the Flying Scotsman service and the legendary locomotive itself.

The evening will finish with drinks and a delicious selection of cheese and charcuterie.  

This is a special evening with limited numbers to give a personal experience. Perfect for Flying Scotsman fans. Numbers are limited and early booking is highly recommended.  

About the curators 

Anthony Coulls

Anthony Coulls is the National Railway Museum’s Senior Curator of Rail Transport and Technology. He has been with the museum over 20 years and has been main line support crew for Flying Scotsman. Anthony is the author of several books on railway and industrial history, and is active in the steam heritage movement.  

Andrew McLean

Andrew McLean is Head Curator and Assistant Director of the National Railway Museum. An expert on Flying Scotsman, he published his book, The Flying Scotsman: Speed, Style, Service in 2016. Andrew sits on the Railway Heritage Designation Advisory Board and the Institute of Railway Studies forum.  

Andrew recently led on the curatorial work for Locomotion’s New Hall, part of the National Railway Museum’s transformational masterplan.
