An exciting new exhibition featuring the photographic artistry of leading railway photographers.
This new exhibition by members of the Rail Camera Club (RCC) will be on show at Locomotion from 20 January to 4 March 2018.
The RCC has been a familiar figure at the lineside for many years. The display features images from 36 RCC members, including material from past members such as WJV ‘Bill’ Anderson and Eric Treacy. Some original Eric Treacy prints will be displayed, in addition to his cameras. Some very early images from the Science Museum Group archive and the Paul Getty Collection will also be on view.
The 100th RCC Folio began circulating in December 2017 – and this exhibition at Locomotion is one of the activities which commemorate this milestone.
The exhibition opens at Locomotion at 14.00 on Saturday 20 January, when many of the RCC guests and other distinguished guests will be present.
The 128-page hardback book “Rail Cameramen”, published by Silver Link Publishing, which features not only all the images in the exhibition but many others too, will also be launched.
A number of associated events and activities linking in with the exhibition will be available at Locomotion during the display period – information will be listed on this website.
The exhibition is sponsored by Hitachi Rail Europe; Bachman Europe plc; the Bluefin Group; Railway Magazine; and the Bahamas Locomotive Society.
Locomotion, in Shildon, County Durham, is open daily from 10.00 to 16.00 (excluding December 24, 25, 26 and January 1) and parking and admission are free.
