Be inspired to describe by our fascinating collection.

Key Stage 1

Discover

Children will be introduced to objects associated with railways. Each group will choose an object to describe using their senses; touch, smell, sound and sight. Groups will be given the chance to present their description to the class.

Explore

Each group will have the opportunity to explore the museum to find an exhibit they are inspired by, they then have to write as detailed a description as they can. Once back together groups must describe their object to a partner group who must draw it!

Build

Each group must design and build a tower using a variety of craft materials. Whilst building they will take notes of the techniques and processes used so back in the classroom they can write a set of instructions. All models are then available to take back to school.
